Mission Ridge Herefords consists of 7,000 acres of crop land that produce a mix of canola, wheat and pulses. Hay and pasture land to support the cows makes up an additional 2000 acres. A family farm that has been raising purebred Herefords since 1978.

The cows are grazed on native, and tame alfalfa grass pasture through the summer months. Fall grazing on stubble and hay land allows the herd to utilize what the crop harvest leaves behind. Once the snow flies the cows move closer to home to prepare for calving that begins mid-January.

We select walking bulls and AI sires to complement the cow herd. The goal is to improve the foundation with each mating and improve on the previous calf crop. We utilize both tried and true genetics and incorporate some new, exciting AI sires each breeding season.

Following weaning in September the heifers are developed on alfalfa grass hay and oats a supplement. Bulls are started on oats, and transitioned too a high fibre bull developer pellet to get them to sale time.

Mission Ridge Hereford bulls are marketed in Canora, SK along side Sliding Hills Charolais at our bull sale on the third Saturday in March
